The chiefs of Pharaoh's people said: Lo! this is some knowing wizard, 109 who seeks to drive you from your land what do you command' 110 They said: put him and his brother off, and send unto the cities callers. 111 to bring together at the Pharaohs court all the skillful magicians. 112 And the magicians came to Pharaoh and said: 'Shall we have a reward if we win?' 113 He said, "Yes, and, [moreover], you will be among those made near [to me]." 114 They said: 'Moses, will you throw first or shall we be the throwers' 115 He said, "You throw [first]!" When they made their cast, they bewitched the eyes of the people and struck them with awe, for they showed a great [feat of] magic. 116 And We inspired to Moses, "Throw your staff," and at once it devoured what they were falsifying. 117 ۞ Thus was the Truth vindicated and that which they were doing was made vain. 118 And Pharaoh and his people were overcome right there and became debased. 119 The sorcerers fell to the ground in homage, 120 They said, 'We believe in the Lord of all Being, 121 the Lord of Moses and Aaron' 122 Said Firaun, “You have accepted faith in Him before I gave you permission! This is indeed a grand conspiracy you have plotted in the city, in order to expel its people from it; so now you will come to know!” 123 "I will have your hands and feet on alternate sides cut off, and have you all crucified." 124 They answered: "Verily, unto our Sustainer do we turn 125 Will you punish us just because we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us? Our Lord! Shower us with perseverance and cause us to die as those who have submitted [to You].' 126
