The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 Have fear of God and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 What, of all creation will you go to (fornicate with) the males, 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted." 167 He said, "I am one of those who abhors your ways. 168 "My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do." 169 Thereupon We saved him and all his household 170 Except one old woman who remained behind. 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 And We rained on them a rain. And dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned. 173 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 174 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 175
