Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 And goblets set at hand 14 and arranged cushions 15 and carpets outspread. 16 What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
