Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 For a known extent. 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 The living and the dead, 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
