The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 when earth is stretched out 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 will be easy, 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
