And whoever is averse to the Remembrance of the Most Gracious, We appoint a devil upon him, who stays with him. 36 And lo! they surely turn them from the way of Allah, and yet they deem that they are rightly guided; 37 Until when he cometh unto Us, he will say. Ah! would that there had been between me and thee, the distance of the east and the west an evil companion 38 It will profit you not this Day (O you who turn away from Allah's remembrance and His worship, etc.) as you did wrong, (and) that you will be sharers (you and your Qarin) in the punishment. 39 CANST THOU, perchance, [O Muhammad,] make the deaf hear, or show the right way to the blind or to such as are obviously lost in error? 40 Even if We take you away from the world, We shall surely take vengeance on them 41 Or We shall show thee that (accomplished) which We have promised them: for verily We shall prevail over them. 42 Follow devotedly that which is revealed to you. You are certainly on the right path. 43 And it is undoubtedly an honour for you and your people; and you will soon be questioned. 44 Ask all Our Messengers whom We sent before you whether We had appointed any deities beside the Merciful One to be worshipped. 45
