And indeed We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment, 30 and from the Pharaoh. He was the chief of the transgressors. 31 And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds. 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 Verily these! they say: 34 "There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring us our fathers, if you speak truly!' 36 Are they better, or the folk of Tubb'a and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 It was not in idle sport that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We created them not save with a purpose but most of them know not. 39 The appointed time for all of them will be the Day of Judgment 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 Except those upon whom Allah has mercy; indeed He only is the Most Honourable, the Most Merciful. 42
