Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
