The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the sun and his brightness, 1 And the moon when she followeth him, 2 and by the day as it reveals its glory 3 The night when it covers him over, 4 by the sky and how He built it 5 and by the earth and That which extended it! 6 by the soul and how He formed it, 7 And inspired it [with discernment of] its wickedness and its righteousness, 8 He is indeed successful who causeth it to grow, 9 and failed has he who seduces it. 10 Thamood cried lies in their insolence 11 when the most wicked man among them rose up. 12 Then Allah's Messenger warned them: “Hands off the she-camel and her drink!” 13 But they denied him, and they hamstrung her, so Allah doomed them for their sin and rased (their dwellings). 14 He does not fear the result (of their destruction). 15
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
