1/4 Hizb 17
< random >
The nobles of Pharaoh said: "He surely is a clever magician. 109 "He wishes to drive you away from the land. So what do you advise?" 110 They answered: "Let him and his brother wait awhile, and send unto all cities heralds 111 to summon every skilful magician to your presence.' 112 The magicians came to the Pharaoh and said: "Is there reward for us if we succeed?" 113 He said, “Yes, and you will then become close to me.” 114 They said: O Moses! Either throw (first) or let us be the first throwers? 115 He said, “You throw”; when they threw, they cast a magic spell upon the people’s eyes and terrified them, and they brought a great magic. 116 Then We revealed to Moses: 'Now, throw down your staff' And thereupon it swallowed up their false invention. 117 ۞ Thus the truth prevailed, and that which they had brought vanished. 118 Thus they were overcome and made to look abject. 119 The sorcerers fell to the ground in homage, 120 They said, 'We believe in the Lord of all Being, 121 The Lord of Musa and Harun. 122 Said Pharaoh, 'You have believed in Him before I gave you leave. Surely this is a device you have devised in the city that you may expel its people from it. Now you shall know! 123 I shall cut off your hands and feet on the opposite sides, and then crucify you all.' 124 They replied: 'We shall surely turn to our Lord. 125 “And what did you dislike in us, except that we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us? Our Lord! Pour (bestow abundantly) patience on us, and bestow us death as Muslims.” 126

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
