The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 shall call for destruction 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What, then, is amiss with them that they will not believe [in a life to come]? 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 Therefore give to them glad tidings of a painful punishment, 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
