Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven splits open. 1 And the stars dispersed, 2 And when the seas are flowed out, 3 And the sepulchres are overturned, 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 Human being, what evil has deceived you about your Gracious Lord, 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 In whatever shape He will He could surely have fashioned you. 8 Nay! But you deny the Recompense (reward for good deeds and punishment for evil deeds). 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 noble scribes 11 who know whatever you do. 12 Most surely the righteous are in bliss, 13 And lo! the wicked verily will be in hell; 14 roasting in it on the Day of Recompense 15 and which they shall not [be able to] evade. 16 What do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
