T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Ta' Ha' 1 We did not bestow the Qur'an on thee from on high to make thee unhappy, 2 But as admonition for him who fears -- 3 Sent down by One Who created the earth and the lofty heavens. 4 (Allah) Most Gracious is firmly established on the throne (of authority). 5 To Him only belongs all whatever is in the heavens and all whatever is in the earth, and all whatever is between them, and all whatever is beneath this wet soil. 6 And if you speak aloud – so He surely knows the secret and that which is more concealed. 7 Allah! La ilahla illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He)! To Him belong the Best Names. 8 And has the story of Musa come to you? 9 When he saw the fire, he said to his family, "Wait here for I can see a fire. Perhaps I shall bring you a burning torch or find a way to some fire". 10 And when he reached it, he was called by name: O Moses! 11 Surely I am your Lord, therefore put off your shoes; surely you are in the sacred valley, Tuwa, 12 And I have chosen thee, so hearken unto that which is inspired. 13 “Indeed it is Me, Allah – there is no God except I – therefore worship Me and keep the prayer established for My remembrance.” 14 The Hour is coming. But I choose to keep it hidden, so that every human being may be recompensed in accordance with his labours. 15 So let not him who believeth not therein and followeth his own desire keep thee away therefrom lest thou perish. 16 What is that, Moses, thou hast in thy right hand?' 17 "It's my staff," he answered; "I lean on it, and fell leaves for my goats with it, and I have other uses for it." 18 "Throw it down, O Moses," said (the Voice). 19 and he cast it down, and behold it was a serpent sliding. 20 "Catch it," said He, "and have no fear; We shall revert it to its former state. 21 And thrust thy hand within thine armpit, it will come forth white without hurt. (That will be) another token. 22 That We may shew thee of Our Signs the greatest. 23 Go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 24
