Moses said: "O my Lord, enlarge my breast, 25 And ease for me my task 26 Loosen the knot in my tongue, 27 so that they may understand my speech; 28 Appoint for me a henchman from my folk, 29 “That is Haroon, my brother.” 30 “Back me up with him.” 31 and let him share my task, 32 That we may glorify Thee much 33 and remember you often. 34 "Verily! You are of us Ever a Well-Seer." 35 He said: "Moses, your petition is granted. 36 "And indeed, We bestowed Our favour upon thee at a time long since past, 37 When We revealed to your mother what was revealed; 38 "Cast him into the ark, and cast him into the river, and let the river throw him up on the shore. An enemy of Mine and his shall take him." And I loaded on thee love from Me, and to be formed in My sight, 39 "Behold! thy sister goeth forth and saith, 'shall I show you one who will nurse and rear the (child)?' So We brought thee back to thy mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve. Then thou didst slay a man, but We saved thee from trouble, and We tried thee in various ways. Then didst thou tarry a number of years with the people of Midian. Then didst thou come hither as ordained, O Moses! 40 I chose you for Myself. 41 So go forth, both you and your brother, with My Signs, and do not slacken in remembering Me. 42 Go ye twain unto Fir'awn, verily he hath waxen exorbitant, 43 And speak unto him a gentle word, that peradventure he may heed or fear. 44 They said: "O our Lord, we are really frightened lest he behave insolently with us or become violent." 45 (The Lord) said: "Be not afraid. I am verily with you, and I hear and see. 46 "So go ye both to him, and say, 'Verily we are messengers sent by thy Lord: Send forth, therefore, the Children of Israel with us, and afflict them not: with a Sign, indeed, have we come from thy Lord! and peace to all who follow guidance! 47 It is revealed to us that those who call our message a lie or turn away from it will face the torment." 48 Pharaoh said:" Moses! Who is the Lord of the two of you?" 49 Moses replied, "Our Lord is He who has given everything its form, then guided it." 50 Pharaoh asked: "Then, what is the state of the former generations?" 51 He said, “Their knowledge is with my Lord, (recorded) in a Book; my Lord neither strays nor forgets.” 52 [It is He] who has made for you the earth as a bed [spread out] and inserted therein for you roadways and sent down from the sky, rain and produced thereby categories of various plants. 53 Eat (for yourselves) and pasture your cattle: verily, in this are Signs for men endued with understanding. 54
