And make mention (O Muhammad) of Our bondman Job, when he cried unto his Lord (saying): Lo! the devil doth afflict me with distress and torment. 41 (And it was said unto him): Strike the ground with thy foot. This (spring) is a cool bath and a refreshing drink. 42 And We bestowed his household to him and one more similar to it – as a mercy from Us, and as a remembrance for the people of intellect. 43 We said to Him, "Take a handful of twigs in your hand and strike with that but do not break your oath." We found him steadfast. What an excellent servant! He turned constantly to his Lord. 44 (Muhammad), recall Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, all of whom possessed virtuous hands and clear visions. 45 Indeed, We chose them for an exclusive quality: remembrance of the home [of the Hereafter]. 46 And behold, in Our sight they were indeed among the elect, the truly good! 47 And remember Isma'il and Al-Yas'a and Zul-kifl; all of the excellent ones. 48 This is a reminder; and most surely there is an excellent resort for those who guard (against evil), 49 Gardens Everlasting, whereof the portals remain opened for them. 50 Therein they will recline; therein they will call for fruits in abundance and drinks; 51 ۞ and with them maidens restraining their glances of equal age. 52 This is what you, [the righteous], are promised for the Day of Account. 53 Lo! this in truth is Our provision, which will never waste away. 54 All this; but for the insolent awaits an ill resort, 55 Gehenna, wherein they are roasted - an evil cradling! 56 All this (is for them); so let them taste boiling water and pus, 57 and other such torments. 58 'This is a troop rushing in with you; there is no Welcome for them; they shall roast in the Fire.' 59 But they will say: 'No, it is you that has no welcome. It was you who brought it upon us, an evil place' 60 They will say: "Our Lord! whoever brought this upon us,- Add to him a double Penalty in the Fire!" 61 And they will say: "What is the matter with us that we see not men whom we used to count among the bad ones?" 62 Did we take them as an object of mockery, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?" 63 That most surely is the truth: the contending one with another of the inmates of the fire. 64
