Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things), 1 Until you visit the graves (i.e. till you die). 2 But no, indeed, you shall soon know. 3 Again, no indeed; but soon you shall know. 4 Lo! would that ye knew now with the surety of knowledge! 5 For ye will behold hell-fire. 6 Then you shall most certainly see it with the eye of certainty; 7 Then on that Day you shall be questioned about your worldly favours. 8

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
