Now whatever calamity may befall you [on Judgment Day] will be an outcome of what your own hands have wrought, although He pardons much; 30 you cannot escape Him anywhere on earth. You have no protector or helper other than God. 31 And among His signs are the ships that run on the sea like mountains and 32 If He so wills, He can cause the winds to become still so that they will remain motionless on its surface. Surely there are many Signs in this for those who are wont to be steadfast and give thanks. 33 Or He could wreck them for what they have done; yet there is much that He pardons. 34 And (that) those who dispute about Our communications may know; there is no place of refuge for them. 35 Whatever you have received is only for usage in the life of this world, and that which is with Allah is much better and more lasting – for those who believe and rely upon their Lord. 36 Who avoid the deadly sins, immoral acts, and forgive when they are angered, 37 And those who answer the Call of their Lord [i.e. to believe that He is the only One Lord (Allah), and to worship none but Him Alone], and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and who (conduct) their affairs by mutual consultation, and who spend of what We have bestowed on them; 38 And those who, when an oppressive wrong is done to them, they take revenge. 39 Let harm be requited by an equal harm. But whoever pardons and amends will find his reward with God. He does not love the wrongdoers. 40 But indeed if any do help and defend themselves after a wrong (done) to them, against such there is no cause of blame. 41 The way (to blame) is only against those who oppress men and revolt in the earth unjustly; these shall have a painful punishment. 42 But he who bears with patience and forgives, surely complies with divine resolve. 43
