T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta Ha 1 We have not revealed unto thee (Muhammad) this Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed, 2 but only as a reminder to him who tears, 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the heavens on high. 4 The Most Merciful [who is] above the Throne established. 5 To Him belongs what is in the heavens and on earth, and all between them, and all beneath the soil. 6 Whether you speak aloud [or in a low voice], He hears all, for He knows your secrets and what is even more hidden. 7 Allah – there is no worship except for Him; His only are the best names. 8 Has the story of Moses reached you? 9 When he saw a fire and said to his family: "Hold on! I have just perceived a fire; perhaps I will bring a brand from it for you, or I will find some guidance at the fire about the way to follow." 10 When he came close to it, a voice called out, "Moses, 11 Surely I am your Lord, therefore put off your shoes; surely you are in the sacred valley, Tuwa, 12 And I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed [to you]. 13 Verily I! I am Allah! no God there is but I; so worship Me, and establish prayer for My remembrance. 14 The Hour is coming; I would conceal it that every soul may be recompensed for its labours. 15 Let him who does not believe in it and follows his lust not turn your thought away from it, lest you are ruined. 16 And what is that in thy right hand, O Moses? 17 'It is my staff," Moses replied, "upon it I lean and with it I beat down leaves to feed my sheep and for me there are other uses in it' 18 (Allah) said, "Throw it, O Moses!" 19 So he cast it down; and lo! it was a serpent running. 20 Allah said:"Grasp it, and fear not, We shall return it to its former state, 21 And thrust thy hand within thine armpit, it will come forth white without hurt. (That will be) another token. 22 We shall show you some of Our greatest signs. 23 Go to Firon, surely he has exceeded all limits. 24
