۞ And to the 'Aad [We sent] their brother Hud. He said, "O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him. Then will you not fear Him?" 65 The leading men of his people who refused to acknowledge the truth, said, "We can see you are a foolish man, and we think you are lying." 66 He said, “O my people! I do not have any concern with foolishness and I am in fact a Noble Messenger from the Lord Of The Creation.” 67 I am conveying my Lord's messages to you and I am your sincere and honest adviser. 68 Why, do you deem it strange that a tiding from your Sustainer should have come unto you through a man from among yourselves, so that he might warn you? Do but remember how He made you heirs to Noah's people, and endowed you abundantly with power: remember, then, God's blessings, so that you might attain to a happy state!" 69 They said: Have you come to us that we may serve Allah alone and give up what our fathers used to serve? Then bring to us what you threaten us with, if you are of the truthful ones. 70 He said: "Punishment and wrath have already come upon you from your Lord: dispute ye with me over names which ye have devised - ye and your fathers,- without authority from Allah? then wait: I am amongst you, also waiting." 71 Then We delivered him and those with him by a mercy from Us, and We utterly cut off those who belied Our signs, and would not be believers. 72
