(Moses) said: My Lord! relieve my mind 25 'and do Thou ease for me my task. 26 Remove the defect of my tongue 27 so that they may understand my speech; 28 and appoint for me, out of my kinsfolk, one who will help me to bear my burden: 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 Add Thou through him to my strength, 31 and let him share my task, 32 that we may abundantly extol Your glory; 33 And may make mention of Thee oft. 34 Verily Thou! Thou art of us ever a Beholder. 35 He replied: 'Moses, your request is granted. 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on you another time (before). 37 When We told your mother what We relate: 38 'Put him in a wooden box and cast it in the river. The river will cast it on the bank. An enemy of Ours, and his, will retrieve it.' We bestowed Our love on you that you may be reared under Our eyes. 39 "When your sister went and said: 'Shall I show you one who will nurse him?' So We restored you to your mother, that she might cool her eyes and she should not grieve. Then you did kill a man, but We saved you from great distress and tried you with a heavy trial. Then you stayed a number of years with the people of Madyan (Midian). Then you came here according to the fixed term which I ordained (for you), O Musa (Moses)! 40 for I have chosen thee for Mine Own service. 41 Go, you and your brother, with My signs, and do not be remiss in remembering Me. 42 Go to Pharaoh, for he has waxed insolent; 43 And speak to him with gentle speech that perhaps he may be reminded or fear [Allah]." 44 'O our Lord' both said, 'We fear lest he may be excessive against us or become insolent' 45 He (Allah) said: "Fear not, verily! I am with you both, hearing and seeing. 46 "So go ye both to him, and say, 'Verily we are messengers sent by thy Lord: Send forth, therefore, the Children of Israel with us, and afflict them not: with a Sign, indeed, have we come from thy Lord! and peace to all who follow guidance! 47 it has been revealed to us that punishment shall overtake him who rejects it and turns away!'" 48 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Who then, O Musa (Moses), is the Lord of you two?" 49 He said: Our Lord is He Who gave unto everything its nature, then guided it aright. 50 Pharaoh said, 'And what of the former generations?' 51 [Musa (Moses)] said: "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord, in a Record. My Lord is neither unaware nor He forgets, " 52 The One Who has made the earth a bed for you and kept operative roads for you in it and sent down water from the sky; so with it We produced different pairs of vegetation. 53 To eat and feed your cattle. Surely there are signs in these for those who are wise. 54
