Lot's nation, belied their Messengers. 160 Recall, when their brother Lot said to them: "Have you no fear? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing." 166 They said, "Lot, if you do not give up preaching, you will certainly be expelled (from this town)". 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 'My Lord, save me and my people from that they are doing' 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 Except an old woman who lingered behind. 171 Then We destroyed the others. 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175
