And (remember) when you (Muhammad SAW) left your household in the morning to post the believers at their stations for the battle (of Uhud). And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower. 121 When two parties among you were about to lose courage, but Allah was their ally; and upon Allah the believers should rely. 122 And assuredly Allah had succoured you at Badr while ye were humble. Wherefore fear Allah that haply ye may return thanks. 123 Also, remember when you said to the believers, "Is it not enough that your Lord is helping you with a force of three thousand angels sent (from the heavens)?" 124 Yes, why not? If you patiently endure and remain pious, and the disbelievers attack you suddenly, your Lord will send down five thousand marked angels to help you. 125 Allah did not make this to be except as glad tidings for you, so that your hearts might be comforted. Victory comes only from Allah, the Mighty, the Wise. 126 That He may cut off a portion from among those who disbelieve, or abase them so that they should return disappointed of attaining what they desired. 127 This matter is not for you to decide – whether He guides them to repent or punishes them, for they are the unjust. 128 whereas unto God belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth: He forgives whom He wills, and He chastises whom He wills; and God is much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace. 129
