Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

The craving for ever-greater worldly gains and to excel others in that regard keeps you occupied 1 until you go down to your graves. 2 No indeed; but soon you shall know. 3 But you will soon come to know. 4 And yet if you knew with positive knowledge 5 Ye shall certainly see Hell-Fire! 6 Then you will see it with the eye of certainty. 7 Then, on that day, you will surely be questioned regarding the favours. 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
