And when your Lord called out to Musa, saying: Go to the unjust people, 10 the people of Pharaoh, will they not fear God? 11 He said: my Lord! verily I fear they shall belie me. 12 and "my breast is straitened and my tongue is not fluent; so send Aaron as well; 13 besides, they accuse me of a crime, and I fear that they may put me to death." 14 Allah said: "By no means! proceed then, both of you, with Our Signs; We are with you, and will listen (to your call). 15 And go, both of you, unto Pharaoh and say, 'Behold, we bear a message from the Sustainer of all the worlds: 16 "'Send thou with us the Children of Israel.'" 17 (Pharaoh) said: "Did we not cherish thee as a child among us, and didst thou not stay in our midst many years of thy life? 18 Yet you committed the deed you did, surely you are one of the ingrates." 19 Said he, 'Indeed I did it then, being one of those that stray; 20 I fled from you because I feared you. But my Lord has given me judgment and made me one of the Messengers. 21 Is this then the blessing with which you reproach me, that you have the Children of Israel for worshipers' 22 Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds?" 23 He said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between, if ye seek to be convinced. 24 (Firon) said to those around him: Do you not hear? 25 Moses went on, "He is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 (The Pharaoh) said (to his nobles): "Your apostle who has been sent to you, is certainly mad." 27 He said: Lord of the east and the west and whatsoever is in-between, if ye understand. 28 'If you take any other god except myself' he (Pharaoh) replied, 'you shall be thrown into prison' 29 He said: even though I bring unto thee something manifest? 30 Said he, 'Bring it then, if thou art of the truthful.' 31 So [Musa (Moses)] threw his stick, and behold, it was a serpent, manifest. 32 And he drew forth his hand, thereupon it shone bright before the beholders. 33
