Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 labouring, toilworn, 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 and raised couches, 13 And cups put in place 14 Cushions arranged, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Lo! unto Us is their return 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
