Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Say, (O Prophet), it was revealed to me that a band of jinn attentively listened to (the recitation of the Qur'an) and then (went back to their people) and said: “We have indeed heard a wonderful Qur'an" 1 which guides people to the right path and we believe in it. We shall never consider anyone equal to our Lord; 2 'And Exalted is the Majesty of our Lord: He has taken neither a wife nor a son. 3 And the foolish among us were wont to forge lies against Allah exceedingly. 4 'And verily, we thought that men and jinns would not utter a lie against Allah. 5 Yet [it has always happened] that certain kinds of humans would seek refuge with certain kinds of [such] invisible forces: but these only increased their confusion 6 Like you, they thought that Allah would never raise the dead. 7 And (the Jinn who had listened to the Qur'an said): We had sought the heaven but had found it filled with strong warders and meteors. 8 we used to take up a position to listen, but whoever listens now finds a flaming fire lying in wait for him -- 9 'And we understand not whether ill is intended to those on earth, or whether their Lord (really) intends to guide them to right conduct. 10 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary; we are groups each having a different way (religious sect, etc.). 11 And we know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 And when we heard the Message of guidance, we believed therein; and whosoever believeth in his Lord, he shall fear neither diminution nor wrong. 13 And that some of us are those who submit, and some of us are the deviators; so whoever submits, these aim at the right way: 14 And as for those who are unjust, they are firewood for hell. 15 If they had followed the right path, We would have provided them with abundant rain -- 16 So We might test them therein. And whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord He will put into arduous punishment. 17 And the places of worship are only for Allah, so pray not unto anyone along with Allah. 18 When the worshiper of Allah stood supplicating to Him, they swarmed around him (Prophet Muhammad). 19
