(Muhammad), remind them, by the Grace of your Lord, that you are neither a soothsayer or an insane person. 29 Do they say, "He is only a poet and we are waiting to see him die!?" 30 say [to them], "Wait then: I too am waiting along with you!" -- 31 Do their minds command them to do this, or are they an outrageous folk? 32 Or do they say: He has forged it. Nay! they do not believe. 33 Let them produce a scripture like it, if what they say is true. 34 Were they created by nothing, or were they themselves the creators? 35 Did they create the heavens and the earth? No! They have no faith. 36 Or do they have the treasures of your Lord, or are they the authority? 37 Or have they the means by which they listen? Then let their listener bring a clear authority. 38 Or does Allah have daughters whereas you have sons? 39 Or, do you ask them for a wage, so that they become weighed down in debt? 40 Or [do they think] that the hidden reality [of all that exists] is almost within their grasp, so that [in time] they can write it down? 41 Or desire they to outwit? The unbelievers, they are the outwitted. 42 Or have they a god, other than God? Glory be to God, above that which they associate! 43 Even if they were to see a part of the heavens falling down upon them, they would say, "It is only dense cloud". 44 Hence, leave them alone until they face that [Judgment] Day of theirs, when they will be stricken with terror: 45 the day when their guile shall avail them naught, and they shall not be helped. 46 And surely those who are unjust shall have a punishment besides that (in the world), but most of them do not know. 47 And be thou patient under the judgment of thy Lord; surely thou art before Our eyes. And proclaim the praise of thy Lord when thou arisest, 48 And in a part of the night exalt Him and after [the setting of] the stars. 49
