The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29

(1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. (5) وقف المجاذبة أو المعانقة حيث يجب الوقف في أي من موضعين قريبين ولكن ليس كلاهما، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة تظهر في أحد الموقعين باحتمال النصف للنصف.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
