The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
