▼ 55 The All Compassionate
Al-Rahman 2 of 3
Everyone on earth is destined to die. 26 And everlasting is the Entity of your Lord, the Most Majestic and the Most Honourable. 27 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 28 All in the heavens and the earth entreat Him for their needs; a new, mighty task engages Him each day. 29 Which of your Lord's laudable attributes will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 30 We shall surely attend to you at leisure, you weight and you weight! 31 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 32 O you who live in close communion with [evil] invisible beings and humans! If you [think that you] can pass beyond the regions of the heavens and the earth, pass beyond them! [But] you cannot pass beyond them, save by a sanction [from God]! 33 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 34 Let loose at you will be smokeless flames of fire so that you will not be able to defend yourselves. 35 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 36 Then when the heaven is rent asunder, and it becomes rosy or red like red-oil, or red hide. 37 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 38 on that day none shall be questioned about his sin, neither man nor jinn. 39 (We shall see) which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 40 The criminals will be known by their marks, and they will be seized by the forelocks and the feet. 41 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 42 This is Hell which the Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, sinners, etc.) denied. 43 They go circling round between it and fierce, boiling water. 44 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 45

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
