In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 until an appointed time? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 for the living and the dead, 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
