The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Where then will you go? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
