Nay, by the Moon 32 By the night when it departs. 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 It is surely one of the greater, 35 a warning to mortal man 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 In Gardens they will question 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "What took you into the hell?" 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 we fed not the needy, 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 "Till death overcame us." 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
