The people of Lut rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lut said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 164 "Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males, 165 “And leave the wives your Lord has created for you? In fact you are people who exceed the limits.” 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 My Lord! Save me and my household from what they do. 169 So We delivered him and his family,- all 170 except an old woman who remained behind. 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
