Relate the news of Abraham to them. 69 when he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said: We worship idols, so we shall be their votaries. 71 He asked: "Do they hear you when you call them 72 Or do they profit you or cause you harm? 73 They said: Nay, we found our fathers doing so. 74 He said: "Do you observe that which you have been worshipping, 75 Ye and your forefathers! 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 Who created me, then He has shown me the way: 78 It is He who gives me food and drink 79 And when I am ill, it is He who cures me 80 And He Who will cause me to die, then give me life; 81 "And Who, I hope will forgive me my faults on the Day of Recompense, (the Day of Resurrection)," 82 My Lord! bestow on me wisdom and join me with the righteous. 83 And give unto me a good report in later generations. 84 "Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 And forgive my father; verily he is of the erring. 86 And disgrace me not on the Day when (all the creatures) will be resurrected; 87 on the Day of Judgment when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit 88 except for him who comes to God with a pure heart. 89 On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near the pious 90 And hell will appear plainly to the erring. 91 they will be asked, "Where are those whom you worshipped 92 besides God? Can they help you or even help themselves?" 93 So they and all the astray were flung into hell. 94 And all the armies of Iblis. (Satan) 95 And they will say while they dispute with one another, 96 By Allah, of a truth we were in error manifest 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of all Being. 98 It is none but those steeped in guilt who led us into this error, 99 We have no intercessors now, 100 nor a loving friend. 101 If only we could return and be among the believers!" 102 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 103 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
