Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Verily We! We sent Nuh unto his people saying: warn thy people ere there come unto them torment afflictive. 1 He said: "O my People! I am to you a Warner, clear and open: 2 Worship Allah, and fear Him, and obey me. 3 “He will forgive you some of your sins, and give you respite up to an appointed term; indeed the promise of Allah cannot be averted when it arrives; if only you knew.” 4 He said: "O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day: 5 but the more I called, the farther they fled. 6 Each time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers in their ears and wrapped themselves in their garments, and persisted becoming very proud. 7 Then I called them loudly and more openly, 8 then indeed I spoke publicly unto them, and I spoke unto them secretly, 9 Then I said, Ask forgiveness of your Lord, surely He is the most Forgiving: 10 "'He will send rain to you in abundance; 11 And give you increase in wealth and children and provide for you gardens and provide for you rivers. 12 What aileth you that ye hope not toward Allah for dignity 13 when He has created you through different stages of existence? 14 Do you not see how Allah has created the seven heavens, one above another, 15 and made the moon therein a light, and made the sun a lamp, 16 And Allah hath caused you to grow from the earth as a growth. 17 And thereafter He will cause you to return thereinto, and He will bring you forth a forthbringing. 18 ‘And it is Allah Who made the earth a bed for you.’ 19 That ye may thread the valley-ways thereof. 20
