Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 and the severally severing 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 when heaven shall be split 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 and place it in a secure place 21 for an appointed term? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 The living and the dead, 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
