The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars darken, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And the breath of morning 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
