Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Say: 'It is revealed to me that a party of jinn listened then said: "We have indeed heard a wonderful Koran, 1 Guiding unto rectitude; wherefore we have believed therein, and we shall by no means associate with our Lord anyone. 2 He exalted be the Majesty of our Lord, who has neither taken to Himself a wife, nor a son! 3 "'And [now we know] that the foolish among us were wont to say outrageous things about God, 4 and we had thought that men and jinn would never speak against God a lie. 5 And that persons from among men used to seek refuge with persons from among jinn, so they increased them in wrongdoing: 6 Those people thought, like you, that God would never send down a Messenger. 7 and that “we tried to pry (the secrets of) the heaven, but we found it full of terrible guards and shooting meteors”; 8 And that we used to sit in some of the sitting-places thereof to steal a hearing, but he who would (try to) listen now would find a flame lying in wait for him: 9 and that “we do not know whether evil is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends to direct them to the Right Way”; 10 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary; we are groups each having a different way (religious sect, etc.). 11 'And we think that we cannot escape (from the punishment of) Allah in the earth, nor can we escape (from the punishment) by flight. 12 When we heard the Guidance, we believed in it, and whosoever believes in his Lord shall fear neither shortage nor injustice. 13 Some of us are Muslims and some of us have deviated from the Truth. Whoever has embraced Islam has followed the right guidance. 14 And as for those who are unjust, they are firewood for hell. 15 And [Allah revealed] that if they had remained straight on the way, We would have given them abundant provision 16 In order to try them through it. But whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, will be given increasing torment by Him." 17 "And the places of worship are for Allah (alone): So invoke not any one along with Allah; 18 And when the bondman of Allah stood calling upon Him, they well nigh pressed on him stifling. 19
