(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Hath he not been told of that which is in the writs of Musa. 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 and that it is He who gives riches and causes to hoard, 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 He plunged the villages 53 So that they were covered over by what they were covered over. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Stars (Al-Najm). Sent down in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
