▼ 52 The Mountain

Remind them, therefore, that by the grace of your Lord you are neither a soothsayer nor possessed. 29 Or do they say: “He is a poet for whom we await an adverse turn of fortune.” 30 Say (unto them): Except (your fill)! Lo! I am with you among the expectant. 31 Is it that their faculties of understanding urge them to this, or are they but a people transgressing beyond bounds? 32 Or do they say: "He himself has composed this [message]"? Nay, but they are not willing to believe! 33 Let them bring a discourse like thereunto, if they say sooth. 34 Were they created out of nothing, or are they their own creators? 35 Or is it they who created the heavens and the earth? No; the truth is that they lack sure faith. 36 Or, are the treasures of your Lord in their keeping? Or, are they the controllers? 37 Or, do they have a ladder on which they listen? Then let any of them that has listened bring a clear authority. 38 Or has He daughters while you have sons? 39 Or do you ask them for a reward, so that they are over-burdened by debt? 40 Do they possess knowledge of the unseen, so that they can write it down? 41 Do they design evil plans? The disbelievers themselves will be snared by their evil plots. 42 Or have they a god other than Allah? Exalted is Allah far above the things they associate with Him! 43 And if they were to see a piece of the heaven falling down, they would say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" 44 So leave them alone until they face the day when they will be struck dead from terror 45 The Day when their plotting will avail them nothing and no help shall be given them. 46 Surely there are other torments besides this for those who are wicked, though most of them do not know. 47 And wait thou patiently the judgment of thy Lord; verily thou art before Our eyes; and hallow the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest. 48 And in the night-time also hymn His praise, and at the setting of the stars. 49

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
