۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! 4 Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. 9 When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 and the heavens will be rent asunder, 16 On its fringes will be angels, eight of them, bearing their Lord's throne aloft. 17 That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! 19 “I was certain that I will confront my account.” 20 So he shall be in a pleasing life 21 in an exalted garden 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. 24 And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me! 25 And not known my account! 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 My riches have not availed me, 28 Gone from me is my authority." 29 It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
