The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe to the diminishers, 1 Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully, 2 But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss. 3 Do such people not realize that they will be raised up, 4 On a mighty Day. 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Nay! Truly, the Record (writing of the deeds) of the Fujjar (disbelievers, sinners, evil-doers and wicked) is (preserved) in Sijjin. 7 and what shall teach thee what is Sijjin? 8 it is a written record. 9 Woe on that day to the rejecters, 10 Who call the Day of judgement a lie! 11 And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, (in disbelief, oppression and disobedience of Allah, the sinner!) 12 When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!" 13 Not at all – but rather their earnings have heaped rust upon their hearts. 14 No indeed! On that Day they will be screened off from seeing their Lord, 15 Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire. 16 and it will be said to them: 'This is that which you belied' 17 Indeed the record of the virtuous is in the highest place, the Illiyin. 18 And what could make thee conceive what that mode most lofty will be? 19 A record [indelibly] inscribed, 20 Witnessed by those who are honoured. 21 Most surely the righteous shall be in bliss, 22 Reclining on couches, looking on. 23 Thou wilt recognise in their faces the beaming brightness of Bliss. 24 They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed. 25 its seal will be of musk -- for this let the aspirants aspire -- 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 A spring whence those brought near (to Allah) drink. 28 Surely they who are guilty used to laugh at those who believe. 29 when they passed by them they winked, 30 And when they went back to their people turned to make fun of them; 31 and when they saw them they said, 'Lo, these men are astray!' 32 No one has appointed them to watch over the believers. 33 On the Day of Judgment, the believers will laugh at the disbelievers 34 seated upon their couches, they are looking around. 35 Did not the disbelievers get repaid for what they used to do? 36
