The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Hallow thou the name of thine Lord, the Most High, 1 who has created and shaped, 2 Who determines and directs, 3 It is He who has caused the grass to grow, 4 Then made it dry and dark. 5 We shall make you recite and then you will not forget, 6 Except as Allah wills: For He knoweth what is manifest and what is hidden. 7 And We shall ease thy way unto the state of ease. 8 REMIND, THEN, [others of the truth, regardless of] whether this reminding [would seem to] be of use [or not]: 9 The reminder will be received by him who fears (Allah), 10 But the wretched one will avoid it - 11 He will be cast into the Great Fire. 12 Then he neither dies in it, nor lives. 13 He indeed shall be successful who purifies himself, 14 And remembers (glorifies) the Name of his Lord (worships none but Allah), and prays (five compulsory prayers and Nawafil additional prayers). 15 But nay, [O men,] you prefer the life of this world, 16 although the Hereafter is better and more lasting. 17 Surely, this is in the ancient Scrolls, 18 the scrolls of Abraham and Moses. 19
