The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 taught the human what he did not know. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 that he sees himself sufficed. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 Have you seen the one who forbids 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 Or enjoineth piety? 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 [the while] We shall summon the forces of heavenly chastisement! 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
