Say: 'Who shall guard you by night and in the daytime from the All-merciful?' Nay, but from the Remembrance of their Lord they are turning away. 42 Or have they gods to defend them, other than Us? Indeed, they are unable to help themselves, neither shall they be guarded in safety from Us. 43 Nay, We have allowed these [sinners] - as [We allowed] their forebears - to enjoy the good things of life for a great length of time: but then - have they never yet seen how We visit the earth [with Our punishment,] gradually depriving it of all that is best thereon? Can they, then, [hope to] be the winners? 44 Say: I warn you only by revelation; and the deaf do not hear the call whenever they are warned. 45 If but a breath of the Wrath of thy Lord do touch them, they will then say, "Woe to us! we did wrong indeed!" 46 And We place the scales of justice for the Day of Resurrection, so no soul will be treated unjustly at all. And if there is [even] the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it forth. And sufficient are We as accountant. 47 And We had already given Moses and Aaron the criterion and a light and a reminder for the righteous 48 Those who fear their Lord without seeing and who apprehend the Last Day. 49 This is a Blessed Admonition that We have revealed. Are you, then, going to reject it? 50
