Say, [Prophet], "I am only a warner. There is no god but God, the One, the All-Powerful, 65 "The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all between,- Exalted in Might, able to enforce His Will, forgiving again and again." 66 Say: "That (this Quran) is a great news, 67 To which you pay no heed. 68 I had no knowledge of the High Council when they disputed. 69 It is revealed unto me only that I may be a plain warner. 70 Recall what time thy Lord said unto the angels: verily I am about to create a human being from clay; 71 So when I have fashioned him and breathed into him (his) soul created by Me, then you fall down prostrate to him." 72 The angels prostrated themselves, all of them. 73 Not so Iblis: he was haughty, and became one of those who reject Faith. 74 (Allah) said: "O Iblis! What prevents thee from prostrating thyself to one whom I have created with my hands? Art thou haughty? Or art thou one of the high (and mighty) ones?" 75 Satan replied, "I am better than him. You created me from fire, but You created him from clay." 76 (God) said: "Then go hence, ostracised. 77 Upon you will be My damnation till the Day of Doom." 78 He said, "Lord, grant me respite until the Day of Resurrection". 79 [Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved 80 till the Day the time whereof is known [only to Me]." 81 He said: "By Your authority, I will lead them astray, 82 [all] save such of them as are truly Thy servants!" 83 He said: The truth then is and the truth do I speak: 84 I will fill up Hell with you and every one of them who follows you." 85 Say, "I do not ask you for any recompense for this, nor am I a man of false pretentions: 86 This is only a warning for mankind. 87 And ye will come in time to know the truth thereof. 88
