And whatever calamity befalls you, is because of what your hands have earned – and there is a great deal He pardons! 30 Ye cannot escape in the earth, for beside Allah ye have no protecting friend nor any helper. 31 And among His Signs are the ships, in the sea, like mountains. 32 If He so wills, He can cause the winds to become still so that they will remain motionless on its surface. Surely there are many Signs in this for those who are wont to be steadfast and give thanks. 33 He may, while forgiving much of the sins of those that ride these ships, drown them on account of some of their misdeeds. 34 And let them know, those who call Our messages in question, that for them there is no escape. 35 So whatever thing you are given, that is only a provision of this world's life, and what is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who believe and rely on their Lord. 36 And those who avoid the greater sins, and Al-Fawahish (illegal sexual intercourse, etc.), and when they are angry, they forgive 37 those who answer their Lord, establish the prayers, and their affairs are by consultation; who spend of that which We have given them, 38 And those who defend themselves when they are wronged. 39 The recompense of evil is evil the like of it. But he who forgives and makes amends, his reward lies with Allah. Surely He does not love the wrong-doers. 40 And whosoever helps himself after he has been wronged -- against them there is no way. 41 blame falls only on those who wrong men and transgress on this earth without justification, such will have a painful punishment, 42 And verily, whosoever shows patience and forgives that would truly be from the things recommended by Allah. 43
