and We saved the Children of Israel from a humiliating punishment 30 From Firon; surely he was haughty, (and) one of the extravagant. 31 And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly, 32 and bestowed upon them the Signs wherein lay an evident test for them. 33 These people say, 34 “There is nothing except our dying just once, and we will not be raised.” 35 Then bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful." 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba, and those who had lived before them, whom We destroyed as they were sinners? 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, just for play. 38 We created them in nothing else except the truth. But most do not know. 39 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is the appointed time for them all - 40 A day when friend can in naught avail friend, nor can they be helped, 41 Except such as receive Allah's Mercy: for He is Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 42
