Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 There is also evidence of the Truth within your own selves. Will you then not see? 21 There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
